Bobbiny macrame yarn and sustainability - interesting facts about Bobbiny
At Bobbiny, sustainability is a top priority. All yarns that you get in our shop are made from recycled materials. These in turn are obtained from production waste, old clothes and other cotton textiles.
From cellulose to colored yarn
The materials are first cut into the smallest pieces and then shredded again. The color is also formed during this phase. The recovered pulp is then mixed in the right proportions to get the desired shade. The fibers are then spun into yarn. Due to the production process, some batches may differ in tone.
But it's the imperfection that makes a DIY perfect, doesn't it?
Water and toxic dyes are not used during the entire manufacturing process of Bobbiny yarns. The paper spool on which the cord is wound is biodegradable. Then there was the issue of transportation. Bobbiny tries to keep the CO2 consumption as low as possible and to limit the energy consumption.
Bobbiny yarns have been awarded the Öko-Tex certificate 100 and certified according to GRS.
